Actor LaKeith Stanfield is showing the world he’s an artist in more ways than one. Stanfield’s unique attire for this shoot, breaking traditional gender-heterosexual norms, has sparked conversation across social media.Another look for the magazine photographed by Justin French shows Stanfield wearing a bull nose ring, an afro reminiscent of the 1970s, and clothed in a suit. He told the magazine’s Feature Fashion Editor Mahoro Seward, “I approach everything as if it’s my last day on earth. 100 percent ambition and preparation meets decades of soul searching and spirit reaping.”The 30-year old actor was recently nominated for two NAACP Image Awards: one for his stunning supporting role in The Harder They Fall and another for Judas and the Black Messiah, losing to both Daniel Kaluuya and Will Smith, respectively.According to Madame Noire, he also discussed how being in the spotlight has waned on his mental health.“When I first started in the business. I just wanted to work, I just loved acting. Then once I started acting, I started seeing success and things that to me looked like success, like cheques for $500 when I didn’t have any money in my pocket, ” Stanfield told the Guardian in 2021. “I thought, ‘Well, if I just build on this, then I can create something for my family, and then we’ll all be successful. And we’ll be happy.’ And while some of those things bring momentary happiness, I realized nothing was more useful than therapy.”
