A Palestinian man was detained for questioning Monday at the Allenby border crossing between the West Bank and Jordan when customs inspectors discovered he was smuggling approximately 40 goldfinches in a pair of fishnet stockings he was wearing.
The stockings, with a floral design, appeared to have been chosen to allow the birds to breathe.
According to Channel 10 news, the suspect will be questioned by Israel’s Nature and Parks Authority.

“We view with great severity attempts to smuggle animals of any kind and work around the clock to eradicate the phenomenon,” said Maj. Hadi Khatib, the Civil Administration’s commander at the crossing.

Goldfinches are a small bird native to the region and prized for their singing. They are often bred with canaries in order to produce a more pleasant singing voice.

When Katy Perry sang about waking up in Vegas back in 2009, she mentioned hangovers, fake IDs, and motel keys, but it looks like Dua Lipa’s version of Las Vegas is slightly different. In her latest Instagram photo dump, she showed off a very Vegas outfit that included a shiny purple minidress that was cinched at the waist with a red garter belt. Inexplicably — though most of Lipa’s outfits defy explanation — she didn’t clip her coordinating red stockings into the clasps, letting the garter belt’s clips dangle free as she posed with a huge bouquet of lavender roses and danced with her sunglasses.

Lipa’s tiny purple dress featured a draped halter neckline that almost reached her belly button and delicate spaghetti straps. Her red stockings and garter belt (which had a bling rhinestone buckle) matched her pointy red ankle-strap shoes. Red and royal purple isn’t the most obvious color combo, but like just about everything else she wears, Lipa made the color mixing look effortless. Well, as effortless as wearing lingerie as real clothes could be.

“Woke up in Vegas,” she wrote alongside the photos.

According to Footwear News, Lipa’s getting immortalized at Madame Tussauds (though the London outpost will be getting her likeness, not the Las Vegas branch) alongside Ariana Grande and David Bowie. The new additions will be joining Rihanna, Beyoncé, Amy Winehouse, and Ed Sheeran statues in the “music festival zone” area of the museum. FN reports that Lipa’s figure is outfitted in a “pink plunging bra that has a matching fishnet overlay paired with green sweatpants,” which she wore at her 2017 Glastonbury performance.

If you ever had to commute during a transit strike, I don’t have to tell you how much “fun” it is! I had only recently returned to the business world in the city when one particular strike was in the works. My sister and I decided that our best route to work would be via the Staten Island Rapid Transit, since it was one of the few options we had. Back in the day, women didn’t wear pants to business and on those hot summer days, pantyhose wasn’t very comfortable. But lucky for me, I found a new, more convenient and modern style hose — no need for a garter belt or girdle.Since it was our first day back to work during the strike, I was content accepting to meet up with the additional crowds in transit. And off to work we went. Since there was standing room only in all the train cars, when our stop arrived, we climbed aboard and made our way to the St. George ferry terminal.And then it happened!With every bump along the way, I could feel my new stylish stockings sliding down each leg. Whew, I began to sweat. And then I had a plan. When all the passengers exit, I’ll sit down and remove my stockings and then be the last one to exit. Did I have a choice? Being a native Staten islander and having good manners and expecting my neighbors to behave the same way, I wasn’t actually pushed off the train, but gently escorted and found myself in the terminal still with stockings around my ankles in that embarrassing position.My sister yelled to me to run toward the closing doors, but my pace was slow and even though I made a wholehearted attempt to reach the closing doors, I was left all alone in that position. I walked, ran, crouched over holding onto each stocking with both hands. 15-Year-Old Contestant Draws Mixed Opinions for Wearing Garter Belt During Performance on MBC’s ‘My Teenage Girl’
On December 5, MBC aired their latest episode of “My Teenage Girl.” In this episode, the mentors and judges continued the evaluation stages from the previous week, also known as entrance exams.

In this episode, best friends Won Ji Min and Joo Hyo Rin, who are both second-year middle school students, performed Red Velvet – IRENE&SEULGI’s song “Monster.” During the VCR before the full-scale stage, Girls’ Generation member Yuri and Ock Joo Hyun, who are both serving as mentors on the show, commented that the stage looked very mature.
The two performed a different choreography from the original, using tables and chairs as props to their dancing. The two also showed off sensual expressions that matched the song’s theme.

In particular, Won Jimin drew attention to her due to her outfit. She wore a cropped shirt that emphasized her waistline and a garter belt on her thigh for this stage. In addition, the idol danced on a chair and climbed on the table during the performance, showing off a mature and adult-like vibe.

After the stage, Yuri praised Won Jimin, saying that she was reminded of Jo Bo Ah while watching her perform. Won Jimin was commended for being a good singer and dancer and stated that she would be the center if Won Jimin were in a girl group.
Many who watched the performance admired Won Jimin’s beauty but questioned why she wore a garter belt. A garter belt is worn as an undergarment to hold up stockings. In K-pop, it is often worn by idols to emphasize their sexiness.

However, as Won Jimin is a minor and is only 15 years old (Korean age; in international age, she is 13 years old), many believed that wearing a garter belt is too scandalous for her.
Furthermore, people questioned why she was allowed to wear something seen as provocative and sexy on stage at her age and hoped that she steers away from that concept due to how young she is.
Won Jimin and Joo Hyorin both passed the entrance exam stages and moved on towards the next stage of the competition.

What is ‘My Teenage Girl?’
“My Teenage Girl” is an MBC reality survival show that started airing on November 28, 2021. The show aims to debut a seven-member global girl group that will chart on the Billboard charts. The show allowed any female trainee over the age of 10 to join.

Over 30,000 applications were received worldwide, and only 83 contestants were chosen. These 83 contestants were separated into four groups based on their age. Before competing on the show, all 83 contestants will perform an “entrance exam” in which only 40 will be allowed to pass, which is ten from each grade.
