The official Twitter account for the Kobe-based Gainax West anime studio posted an image on Friday that features the words “Coming Soon” and what appears to be outlines of the protagonists of the Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt anime series.

The account also stated that it will reveal “early information once retweets exceed 5,000 or account followers exceed 2,000. The teaser Twitter post now has more than 14,000 retweets, and the account later posted a response to the Twitter post that reads, “Not Pachinko.”

Gainax launched the Gainax West branch in March. Producer Yasuhiro Takeda is in charge of the West location.

The 13-episode Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt television anime series aired in 2010. Funimation released the series on DVD and Blu-ray Disc.

Update: Gainax West’s Twitter account received more than 2,000 followers, so it confirmed that it will “offer something new” for Panty and Stocking. It further announced that it will share more information on December 16, and the news will not be a pachinko, pachislot, social network game, or Blu-ray Disc.

Byleth was originally met with a lukewarm response from fans upon being announced as the final challenger for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s Fighter Pass Vol. 1 on January 16, 2020. Even though Byleth is the eighth Fire Emblem rep that’s playable in the game’s massive roster, players have since warmed up to Byleth’s inclusion.








Over the years, we’ve certainly noticed how often fans like to cosplay as the female version of Byleth. Needless to say, we recently stumbled upon Shio Ohayou’s Instagram page which showcases a number of photos depicting her in Byleth cosplays.








In some of Shio Ohayou’s, we can see a take on the “Fell Star’s Duo” version of Byleth from Fire Emblem Heroes. Though Fell Star’s Duo Byleth does not appear in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, or Fire Emblem: Three Hopes, it’s a version of Byleth that tends to be pretty popular with fans.

Unlike a number of other cosplayers that we’ve highlighted, Shio Ohayou has actually teamed up with another cosplayer who’s playing out the part of Rhea, also in swimsuit attire. Notably, these characters’ histories are linked due to their connections with Sothis, the goddess within the story of Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

Although Byleth and Rhea look fairly defenseless together as the Fell Star’s Duo, they are not to be underestimated. Eagle-eyed observers should almost immediately be able to spot the dagger that’s tied to Byleth’s hip, which is properly represented in Shio Ohayou’s cosplay.

It should also be noted that Byleth has been granted the ability to use Divine Pulses to undo certain mistakes. Of course, Byleth was able to earn herself the title of “Ashen Demon” amongst mercenaries even before acquiring this ability from Sothis.

Meanwhile, Rhea is armed with the ability to undergo a terrifying transformation should the need arise. In certain story routes for Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Rhea can be a fierce opponent as a result of this.

Shio Ohayou has also done a remarkably good job cosplaying as Byleth as she is traditionally seen. Uniquely, Shio Ohayou actually utilizes an extendable version of the Sword of the Creator in some of her cosplay photos.

Byleth’s unique pattern fishnet stockings and “stomach window” also appear to have been accurately captured by Shio Ohayou’s cosplay of Byleth. We can see that Shio Ohayou is able to represent Byleth both with her dark teal blue and mint green styles, which has significance within the story itself.

Image from Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt’s first anime

The Hiroyuki Imaishi-directed crass parody of the animation genre returns with a brand new project for Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt announced today at Studio TRIGGER’s Anime Expo panel. Alongside the announcement, the anime project got a teaser trailer for the now 12-year-old series, as well as a “new” name, though both haven’t been released publicly at this time. 

The trailer showed text “NEW PANTY & STOCKING” at the end alongside new animation of the two fallen angels. 

The first Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt anime aired from October 2010 to December 2010 from Hiroyuki Imaishi (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, PROMARE) at Gainax prior to leaving the studio to help found studio TRIGGER. The new Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt project will be produced TRIGGER, though as of writing the staff, cast and release time have not been confirmed.

The first Guardians Of The Galaxy movie was released in 2014, and received critical acclaim. The film raked in a whopping $773.3 million in the global box office, and also received two Oscar nominations.The sequel, simply titled Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, was released three years later in 2017, and garnered even higher box office numbers with $863.8 million in global sales.The premise of the third film follows Peter Quill, who is ‘still reeling from the loss of Gamora’ as he ‘allies his team to defend the universe and one of their own – a mission that could mean the end of the Guardians,’ according to an IMDB synopsis.  The director of the project, James Gunn said during an interview with Rolling Stone published earlier this month, James hinted at the opening song in the Guardians Vol. 3 film. The movies are known for its catchy soundtracks, however, the music in the third film will help set a ‘different tone.’ ‘It starts with Radiohead’s acoustic version of ‘Creep.’ And that’s just a much different tone from the beginning than the other two films,’ he revealed. Chris also opened up to the outlet about the last movie in the trilogy and stated that it has, ‘matured in its emotionality the same way that probably the audience has matured.’ He further explained, ‘The kids who loved Guardians were teenagers, and now they’re in their mid-twenties, and it’s really exciting to think that they’re ready for this movie the way that they might not have been nine years ago.’ Pratt also reflected on how his career has completely changed since he joined the Marvel universe. ‘My entire life is different now because of Marvel, because of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Fishnet stocking embellishments aren’t just for beginners, though. Byleth was announced as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass Vol. 1’s fifth and final challenger on January 16, 2020 and later released on January 28, 2020. While the reception towards the fighter was initially lukewarm, fans of the Super Smash Bros. series eventually learned to enjoy the inclusion despite the fact that Byleth is the eighth Fire Emblem rep on the character select screen.








Notably, the female version of Byleth has become a popular cosplay choice. As such, Chloe “Jajankuro” has a number of photos depicting herself as Byleth on her Instagram page.








It’s often said that one of the most difficult parts about recreating female Byleth’s look for the purpose of cosplaying her is the recreation of her unique pattern fishnet stockings that shows random bits of Byleth’s legs. Of course, it would appear that Jajankuro has opted for a different design of Byleth’s leggings, though they seem to be equally as complicated looking.

Another key feature about Byleth is the weapon that she wields. Jajankuro has plenty of shots of her Byleth as she’s wielding the legendary Sword of the Creator.

Female Byleth also has a peculiar part of her costume known as a “stomach window.” It’s almost like a cleavage window, except it seems to be specifically designed to show off Byleth’s belly button.

Over on her Twitter page, Jajankuro has posted a couple of shots of her Byleth with a dark teal color. For context, this is the second costume for Byleth in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (since male Byleth is the default appearance).

Byleth takes on this appearance for about half of Fire Emblem: Three Houses until a certain event causes Byleth to essentially “fuse” with Sothis. Funnily enough, Byleth’s hair color neither resembles that of her parents, Jeralt and Sitri.

By doing this, it’s demonstrated that Byleth can tear through dimensions while using the Sword of the Creator. Canonically, this transformation makes Byleth quite powerful, though it actually doesn’t impact gameplay that greatly. Of course, it should be noted that Byleth is generally considered to be the best unit in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, with or without this transformation.

In terms of how it affects gameplay, Byleth’s Professor’s Guidance personal skill transforms into the Professor’s Guidance+ personal skill. In addition to granting 20% experience gain to the user and adjacent allies like the Professor’s Guidance skill, Byleth also deals an additional two damage during combat.

After that specific chapter is finished with, Byleth will then gain access to the Enlightened One class, a class exclusive to Byleth. Though it provides the most proficiencies out of all the classes in the game with four of them, its stat growths are, ironically, not all that impressive.

Oddly, however, it has been demonstrated that Byleth can undergo this transformation in Fire Emblem: Three Hopes (released June 24, 2022) without fusing with Sothis. Needless to say, fighting Byleth with this hair color proves to be a much greater challenge than fighting him or her with their default hair color.

Regardless, this is Byleth’s eighth costume color in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Like with all costumes in Smash, choosing these colors will have no impact on Byleth’s gameplay.
