This anime series, at the time when it was released, was loved by fans so much that IMDb just had to announce it as the best anime series by Studio Trigger.

Gurren Lagann
This anime series throws the entire spotlight on two boys whose name is Kamina as well as Simon. They are both sets on a journey along with a mysterious female character named Yoko Littner. They take this step to save the whole world unknown to them from its evil ruler, Lordgenome. All this while, if the trio wants to achieve their goal, they would have to count on the power of a mechanical robot they deem Lagann to defeat Lordgenome and all of his evil henchmen. Like we have seen in Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt, Gurren Lagann consists of various jokes that are a bit adult-oriented. Although, the show also has employed flashy and over the top animated sequences. If people like animated shows by Gainax, then Gurren Lagann is something that they all must watch.

Kill La Kill
This animated show is all about a girl whose name is Ryuko Matoi, and she is trying to find out about the murderer of her father. While accomplishing this task, she stumbles upon a powerful wearable tool known as Senketsu. After this, she again sets on her journey to find Kiryuin, the person she trusts to have a link to the murder of her father. She thus wishes to defeat in hopes of gaining vengeance as well as intel from her. Like Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt, Kill la Kill also deals with the majority of dark subjects that concern death and tyranny and fighting in a pretty flashy but comedic style. Both of these series also have employed plenty of content for the audience, which likes ecchi and other adult content.

Space Dandy
This anime series throws the entire spotlight on a space hunter whose name is Dandy. He is set on hunting down the strange creatures in return for money with the help of his little sidekicks. Thus, in Space Dandy, we witness Dandy as well as his sidekicks all bounty hunting together on an adventure that never seems boring, even for a minute. Like we have witnessed in Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt, this anime show also follows an episodic plotline. It also has featured a variety of adult jokes. Not only the fact that Space Dandy is an excellent series for the audience that likes comedy, but it also suits the people who like strong characters. Dandy is obviously known for being one of the most powerful comedy anime characters that have ever been created.

Gabriel Dropout
Gabriel Dropout is an anime show about an angel whose name is Gabriel White Tenma. Although, while on her tenure on Earth, she develops an addiction to video games. This converts her into a fallen angel that is pretty indifferent to the mission that is given by Heaven to her. Even when Gabriel comes across an old demon friend, that is, Vignette April Tsukinose, who tries to convince her to return to her old ways, she does not bother listening. Thus, the whole anime centers around these two supernatural creatures and other sorts of mystical characters who have their own set of struggles.
These characters also understand the importance that their occupations have to offer them. Just like we have witnessed in Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt, Gabriel Dropout also follows a protagonist who is an angel and is going against the power of a higher order….

On December 5, MBC aired their latest episode of “My Teenage Girl.” In this episode, the mentors and judges continued the evaluation stages from the previous week, also known as entrance exams.

In this episode, best friends Won Ji Min and Joo Hyo Rin, who are both second-year middle school students, performed Red Velvet – IRENE&SEULGI’s song “Monster.” During the VCR before the full-scale stage, Girls’ Generation member Yuri and Ock Joo Hyun, who are both serving as mentors on the show, commented that the stage looked very mature.

The two performed a different choreography from the original, using tables and chairs as props to their dancing. The two also showed off sensual expressions that matched the song’s theme.

In particular, Won Jimin drew attention to her due to her outfit. She wore a cropped shirt that emphasized her waistline and a garter belt on her thigh for this stage. In addition, the idol danced on a chair and climbed on the table during the performance, showing off a mature and adult-like vibe.

After the stage, Yuri praised Won Jimin, saying that she was reminded of Jo Bo Ah while watching her perform. Won Jimin was commended for being a good singer and dancer and stated that she would be the center if Won Jimin were in a girl group.

Many who watched the performance admired Won Jimin’s beauty but questioned why she wore a garter belt. A garter belt is worn as an undergarment to hold up stockings. In K-pop, it is often worn by idols to emphasize their sexiness.

However, as Won Jimin is a minor and is only 15 years old (Korean age; in international age, she is 13 years old), many believed that wearing a garter belt is too scandalous for her.
Furthermore, people questioned why she was allowed to wear something seen as provocative and sexy on stage at her age and hoped that she steers away from that concept due to how young she is.

Won Jimin and Joo Hyorin both passed the entrance exam stages and moved on towards the next stage of the competition.

“My Teenage Girl” is an MBC reality survival show that started airing on November 28, 2021. The show aims to debut a seven-member global girl group that will chart on the Billboard charts. The show allowed any female trainee over the age of 10 to join.

Over 30,000 applications were received worldwide, and only 83 contestants were chosen. These 83 contestants were separated into four groups based on their age. Plot
The Anarchy sisters, Panty and Stocking, are angels who were kicked out of Heaven due to their bad behavior. They are sent to Daten City (a pun on the Japanese word datenshi (堕天使, lit. “Fallen Angel”)), a place located on the edge of Heaven and Hell. Strange monsters called “Ghosts” besiege the city, but the Anarchy sisters wield a variety of mysterious powers, most notably their ability to transform their underwear and stockings into weapons.
Under the watchful eye of Reverend Garterbelt, and with their pet zipper-dog Chuck, it’s up to Panty and Stocking to destroy these Ghosts, in order to collect enough Heaven Coins to return to Heaven.

“Fly Away” – Transformation Scene
One of the most common targets of parodies, is the transformation scene of Panty and Stocking, from the very first episode. The template portraying Panty and Stocking in this particular scene became a popular base for character swapping, but people also started altering the scene itself with characters from other anime, and various videogames.
The song “Fly Away” has also been used in videos entitled “Fly Away Goes With Everything,” which is identical to Guile’s Theme Goes With Everything.

Dieto — In the first part of episode 4, called “The Diet Syndrome” (Daietto Shindorōmu (ダイエット・シンドローム), Panty discovers that Stocking is on a diet, which Stocking claimed to be something she never has to go on. The main components of the videos include Panty’s over-exaggerated expression as she asks about the diet and Stocking’s horrific reaction. The demon sisters Scanty and Kneesocks, who act as the antagonists of the series, have an obsession with rules, making them repeat the word numerous times throughout the series. Since the voice cast is Japanese, the phrase has the typical engrish feel to it, and they pronounce “Rule” as “Ruuruu”. Since the corrupt line is repeated numerous times, it became somewhat of a catchphrase related to the demon sisters.
The Day Gainax Ruined Xmas
In the final scene, Stocking is wondering whether or not their weapons are effective against Angels and Devils as well. Panty then stated that she might as well test it out, and Stocking obliged, backstabbing Panty in the head, slicing her apart, and then revealed that she’s “actually a demon”.
This scene became one of the most infuriating scenes, as it parodies Gainax Ending to a negative degree. The scene is thought to be made just to troll the watchers.

Dark Horse confirmed at its panel at Anime Expo on Sunday that it will be reprinting TAGRO’s Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt manga in English. Dark Horse previously released the one-volume manga in 2015.
Dark Horse also stated it will be reprinting the “manga editions” of Kazuo Koike and Goseki Kojima’s Lone Wolf and Cub manga.
The 13-episode Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt anime originally aired in 2010. Funimation released the anime on home video in 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2019.
Hiroyuki Imaishi directed the anime at GAINAX. Geek Fleet was in charge of series composition, and the music featured songs from Teddyloid, Booty Bronx, Taku Takahashi, and more. Atsushi Nishigori was in charge of the character design.
The Gainax West anime studio had teased a new project for the anime in 2016, and later revealed a “new product” and exhibition for the franchise.
Studio Trigger announced at its panel at Anime Expo on Saturday that it is working on a new project for the franchise. The staff at the panel showed a short video featuring an animated shot and text with the phrase “NEW PANTY & STOCKING.” The videos featured the main characters each posing with both their middle fingers up.

On August 17th, JYP Entertainment posted a total of 10 concept photos, including 9 individual shots and a group photo, for TWICE’s 11th mini album “BETWEEN 1&2” on the group’s official SNS account. In all of the shots, TWICE members provided visual feasts with their striking appearance.  Overall, with uses of props like barcode number, walkie-talkie, shoulder holster, and TWICE’s seductive eyes and charisma, the tension and charm were off the roof for these teaser images.  Among 9 members, Mina and Chaeyoung drew extensive attention by doing a 180 from their innocent and refreshing images in the past. Panty and Stocking will return, as on display in Anime Expo 2022, the studio has announced it at the Anime Expo 2022, and then in the 2023 it used to discuss it. At the panel, it confirmed that it is taking over from the original anime in 2010. The original anime was brought to fruition in 2008. The project has a very early stage operation. The Good Smile Company released new Pop Up Parade figures of Panty and Stocking.

Early at Anime Expo 2023, Good Smile Company revealed the unpainted prototypes for two Pop Up Parade figures based on the leads. There’s no release date yet for either of those.

Lors du panel au Anime NYC, les membres du Studio Trigger ont confirmé que Sushio et Mai Yoneyama travaillaient sur ce projet. Stockings refer to over-the-knee hosiery. They have been worn by European noble men for horseback riding since the 15th & 16th centuries. In 1560, Queen Elizabeth I began wearing knit silk stockings for their softness and comfort. They were held up by garters attached to a belt or corset.

In the early 1900s, stockings were knit flat, cut, and sewn together down the back of the leg. This created the famous back seam which incidentally was not popular among women who wanted to appear as if they were not wearing stockings. Imagine the scandal of appearing in public with bare legs! And then there was the matter of getting the seam straight on your leg.

Full-fashion stockings came in sizes 8.5 to 10 which considered the shoe size and leg width. They tended to bag at the ankles because the fiber had no elasticity and stockings were overcut at the ankle to get your foot into it. As dresses became shorter in the 1920s, it was socially unacceptable for a woman to leave the house without her legs covered. Pants were not yet an option, so stockings had their heyday.

Stockings were typically made of silk or the newest thread, rayon, which came to the market in 1917. Rayon, made from the inner bark of the mulberry tree, was the first silk substitute. A mix of silk or rayon with cotton supplied the best of both materials and longest wear.

Fishnet stockings revealed too much leg for most women. In the 1920s, they were worn only by show girls and those especially naughty flappers. The flappers, not wanting to wear garters or girdles, created rolled garters to hold up stockings rolled below the knees. Flappers also applied a little leg make-up to their bare knees to tease men with a risqué glimpse of skin.

In 1930, the DuPont Company created NYLON, the first synthetic fiber made entirely from chemicals. The new fiber was touted “as strong as steel, as fine as a spider’s web”. It was introduced for fishing line, toothbrush bristles and surgical sutures. Nylon stockings were shown to the American public at the 1939 New York World’s Fair. Women loved them!

In 1937, Louis Goldschmidt, a German sock maker, invented a fine gauge knitting machine to create a circular sock. They were shaped by pressing them on a form. Women soon had a tubular stocking with NO SEAMS.

In 1942, nylon went to war replacing the Japanese silk in parachutes and tents. Stocking factories were repurposed to produce wartime necessities. Bare legs were still unacceptable, so women used a leg make-up to stain their legs and drew leg seams with an eyeliner pencil to give the impression that they were wearing stockings. In 1948, those war-time factories began producing stockings again.

In the 1940s, Dunlop chemists (the tire people) developed Lastex, thin strands of rubber wrapped in cotton threads. Used in bras and girdles, Lastex was great for firming, but HOT, as rubber does not breathe. In 1949 Dupont created a type of stretchy polyurethane fabric trademarked under the name Lycra. Also referred to as Spandex or elastane, it was introduced in bras and girdles in 1959.

Panti-Legs were also introduced in 1959 and took hold in the ‘60s with the popularity of the mini-skirt. The pantyhose made girdles unnecessary, but women continued to wear them for the shaping they desired. The “control top” previewed in 1970.

Pantyhose became a staple in every teen and woman’s wardrobe. Sales expanded as more women went to work.

The glory days of stockings came to an end in the 1990s. Women were wearing pants with trouser socks. The casual fashion styles had arrived.

Spandex was introduced in the footless Spanx leg coverings which were intended for under garments, but quickly expanded to outerwear. The life cycle for hosiery had peaked and waned.

Today exposed skin is the norm. But that too will evolve.
