Pantyhose (sheer tights) question for Women?

What style of pantyhose do women prefer- sheer toe or reinforced toe? What do Women think of knee high/thigh high nylons as opposed to pantyhose with jeans/ pants?

What is your opinion of the elastic in thigh high nylons?

I was thinking of wearing a pair to a dance because they would be cooler than pantyhose, but I am worried that the elastic will give out and they will start to slip down. Is that elastic pretty good? Am I worrying over nothing?
